PM Dahal, Deuba and Oli hold meeting to end Parliament obstruction
Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli convened a meeting today to address the ongoing obstruction in Parliament. The main agenda of the discussion was finding a resolution to the parliamentary deadlock.

Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Krishna Bahadur Raut has been arrested by the police for this alleged connection with the Lalita Niwas Land Grab scam. Raut, who was heading to Biratnagar, was arrested at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday.
Two individuals arrested in connection with Lalita Niwas land grab case
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the Lalita Niwas land grab case. On Sunday, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police detained two more suspects. SSP Dinesh Acharya of the Bureau confirmed the arrests of Lokhari Ghimire, the former head of Samarjung Company, and Dhruba Aryal, the former survey officer.
PAC stresses on implementation of its directives
Public Account Committee (PAC), House of Representatives senior-most member Rajendra Kumar KC has said it is not only the negligence on the part of the government but also the contempt of the sovereign parliament not to implement the Committee’s decisions and recommendations. A meeting of the Committee today stressed that it was the responsibility of the Committee to ensure the tax paid by people is fully utilized.
Koshi Chief Minister Thapa expands cabinet
Chief Minister (CM) Uddhav Thapa of Koshi Province expanded the cabinet today. Chief Minister Thapa appointed two ministers from the Maoist Center and one from the Nepali Congress. CM Thapa appointed Jeevan Acharya and Rajendra Karki from the Maoist Center, and Ram Kumar Khatri from Nepali Congress.
UML obstructs National Assembly meeting
CPN-UML disrupted the meeting of the National Assembly (NA) even today. As soon as the Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina announced the convening of the meeting, UML’s Bhagwati Neupane said that they would continue to obstruct the meeting until Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda steps down.
KMC to start distributing scholarship to students
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started the process of providing scholarships to students of institutional schools in the metropolis. The KMC itself has started the process for the scholarship as the institutional schools were doing it as required, said KMC Mayor Balen Shah.

Gold traded at Rs. 111,300 per tola
Gold price increased by Rs 700 in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs. 111,300 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 110,750 per tola. The precious yellow metal was traded at Rs. 110,600 per tola and standard gold at Rs 110,150 per tola on Friday.
