KATHMANDU: Convicted for his alleged involvement in the Fake Bhutanese Refugee Scam, Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Bal Krishna Khand has been complaining to the Ministers, Chief Ministers, and high-ranking officials of being framed in the case.
Khand expressed his dissatisfaction to the leadership in front of the leaders who reached the Central Jail in Sundhara to meet him.
On Thursday morning, Foreign Minister NP Saud reached the Central Jail and spoke with Khand. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Dilli Choudhary, visited Khand at the Central Jail and met him.
According to NC sources, Khand has been pleading innocent to the NC leaders.
“I was unnecessarily dragged into the case, the investigation was not done properly,” he told the leaders.
NC leaders Bhishmaraj Angdambe and Mahendra Yadav also reached the jail to meet Khand on Thursday.
In the case of fake Bhutanese refugees, on June 16, the Kathmandu District Court ordered 16 people, including former Home Minister Khand and former Deputy Prime Minister and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, to be remanded in custody.
