Newly appointed Madhes province ministers swear-in

JANAKPURDHAM: The Madhes Province government has been expanded with the induction of three new ministers from the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Unified Socialist).

The province government is led by the Janata Samajbadi Party and the posts were lying vacant since the CPN (UML) decision to quit the government one and half months ago with the change in political equation in the federal politics.

NC province parliamentary leader Krishna Yadav (minister for physical infrastructure and development) and Birendra Prasad Singh of Nepali Congress (minister for health and population), and Unified Socialist parliamentary leader Gobinda Bahadur Neupane (minister for land management, agriculture and cooperatives) were inducted in the government on the recommendation of Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav.

Province Chief Harishanker Mishra administered oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers amidst a ceremony held at the Madhes Bhawan.

Despite the agreement to give one ministerial berth to the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, it has not yet participated in the government.
