ACC Men’s Premier Cup: Oman makes place in semi-finals, beats Saudi Arabia by 72 runs



KATHMANDU: Oman has secured a place in the semi-finals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup Cricket undergoing in Kathmandu.

Oman made room for the semifinals by defeating Saudi Arabia by 72 runs.

Nepal has also reached the semi-finals from this group.

Oman now has 6 points while Nepal has 5 points. Nepal has one game to play yet.

Chasing a target of 367 runs, Saudi Arabia scored only 294 runs after losing all wickets in 46.5 overs.

Abdul Wahid of Saudi Arabia scored 95 runs and Saad Khan scored 75 runs. Hisam Shaikh scored 36 runs.

As the other batters could not last, they lost to Oman.

Oman’s Bilal Khan took 4 wickets while Jay Odedera took 3 wickets. Similarly, 2 wickets remained in the name of Zeeshan Maqsood.

Oman, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, scored 366 runs losing six wickets in the scheduled 50 overs.

Kashyap Prajapati and Jatinder Singh shared 125 runs for the first wicket for Oman.

Kashyap Prajapati scored 51 runs off 53 balls by hitting six fours and two sixes.

Similarly, Jatinder and Shoaib Khan shared 53 runs for the second wicket.

Hitting 11 fours and two sixes off 79 balls, Jatinder returned to the pavilion in 27.4 overs.

For Saudi Arabia, Atif ur Rehman took three wickets, Abdur Waheed took two wickets and Abdul Waheed took one wicket.
