PNG set a meager target of 96 runs against Nepal, Sandeep took 5 wickets



KATHMANDU: With Sandeep Lamichhane’s five wickets Nepal confined Papua New Guinea (PNG) to a meager target of 96 runs in the ongoing ICC World Cup League 2 tournament.

Nepal’s bowlers ran mercilessly through PNG batting lineup today.

Nepal, who won the toss and elected to field at the TU cricket Ground, Kirtipur, bowled out PNG for 95 runs.

PNG scored only 95 runs in 32 overs, losing all 10 wickets.

Sandeep Lamichhane took 5 wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi and Kusahl Malla two each and Sompal Kami one wicket for Nepal while covering PNG cheaply.

For PNG, captain Aasad Vala scored the most 20 runs, Sese Bowle scored 18, Charles Amini scored 16, Hiri Hiri scored 14. Other batsmen could not score in double digits.
