KATHMANDU: Candidacy registration has been done in the Tribhuvan University campuses across the country for Free Student Union (FSU) election to be held on coming March 19.

With candidacy filing today, the FSU election that has not been regularized for the past 14 years was ascertained to be held this time.

Director at the TU Student Welfare and Sports Directorate, Pashupati Adhikari informed that candidacy nomination has been done in almost all campuses across the country.

He further shared that directive was issued to initiate election process in remaining campuses even later today by forging consensus through dialogue.

“Candidacy filing was done at campuses across the country in an enthusiastic manner”, he said, adding, “We issued directive to the authorities of the registration-obstructed campuses to start election process through dialogue by 10.00 pm today”.

This afternoon the student unions and organizations had reached the campuses with their banners to nominate candidacies towards direct and proportional categories.

Candidates from different student unions and organizations had registered their candidatures from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
Election process has not started at Tri-Chandra Campus and Ayurveda Campus in the Kathmandu Valley.

The FSU election is scheduled to take place on March 19 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. Election would be held in 62 constituent campuses and 1,040 affiliated campuses of the TU.
