Sandeep Lamichhane’s writ in Justice Khatiwada’s bench for hearing

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is hearing on Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane’s writ seeking order to invalidate the Patan High Court’s decision to restrict him from going abroad to play cricket.

Lamichhane, who has been accused of raping a minor, was in police custody for long and was released on bail by the High Court.

According to the Supreme Court website, Lamichhane’s writ has been in the bench of Justice Ishwar Khatiwada.

However, Lamichhane’s case is least likely to get heard today as there are 15 writs in the bench of Justice Khatiwada and Lamichhane’s writ is  at the last.

The Nepali team is going to UAE tomorrow (Saturday) for the ODI series against UAE and Papua New Guinea under the ICC World Cricket League-2.

Sandeep filed a writ in the Supreme Court saying that he should also be allowed to go to UAE for the said series.

The case against him is pending in District Court Kathmandu.
