Complaint filed at police against individuals alleged by Prem Acharya before self-immolation

KATHMANDU: Advocate Swagat Nepal filed a case at the Kathmandu Police Range Office against those individuals whom Prem Prasad Acharya has named before self-immolation.

Advocate Swagat has alleged the individuals of abetting Acharya to take such a decision of self-immolation, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, who is also spokesperson of the Kathmandu Police Range Office, said.

Acharya, who tried to self-immolate after sprinkling petrol on his body in front of the Federal Parliament in New Baneswor, Tuesday.

He died on Wednesday morning at the Burn Hospital, Kirtipur.

Before self-immolation, Acharya had written a long note saying that he was compelled to make such an act as he was in debt of over Rs 60 lakhs while doing his business.

He has categorically mentioned the names of Nepal Gramodhyog, Upendra Mahato, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Big Mart, Sathimart, Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Golyan Agro, and Metrotarkari.com, among others for abetting self-immolation.
