Buddha’s idol installed in Chaurideurali of Kavrepalanchowk

KAVREPALCHOWK: A 22-feet tall statue of Lord Buddha has been erected at Chaurideurali Rural Municiplaity-6. Arubot in Kavrepalanchowk.

On the occasion of the 2859th Sonam Lhosar, the statue was installed and unveiled on Sunday.

The Buddha idol was prepared on the initiative of Dhinimhendo Tamang Utthan Samaj, a local organization, at the cost of Rs 7 million.

As informed, the government and local donors had provided the financial support for the same.

Parliamentarian Gokul Prasad Baskota unveiled the statue on the special occasion of Lhosar cultural celebration.

He expressed his confidence that installation of Lord Buddha idol would help increase inflow of tourists to the area.

Samaj Chair Rajkumar Moktan informed that the government had donated Rs 5 million and donors Rs 2 million for the installation of the idol.
