Bamati CM Jamkattel gets vote of confidence



HETAUDA: The Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jamkattel, has got the vote of confidence from the Bagmati Province Assembly on Tuesday.

Of the 110-member Province Assembly, Chief Minister Jamkattel of the CPN (Maoist Centre) received support from 105 members.

Nepali Congress (NC) lawmakers also gave the vote of confidence to the newly-elected Chief Minister.

However, three members of Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party cast against the motion of the vote of confidence. A total of 109 members were present in the Province Assembly meeting.

Earlier, Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Assembly Parliamentary Party (PP) had decided to give the vote of confidence to Chief Minister Jamkattel, NC PP leader Bahadur Singh Lama said.

The lawmakers of the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Maoist Centre, RPP, CPN (Unified Socialist), Hamro Nepali Party offered the vote of confidence for Jamkattel.

The Province Assembly meeting has been postponed until further notice, the Province Assembly Secretariat said.
