POKHARA: The bodies of 69 passengers have been recovered from the Yeti Airlines aircraft crash site in Pokhara.
Yeti Airlines-N ANC ATR, which was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara with 72 people, including 68 passengers and four crew members, crashed in a Seti gorge on Sunday morning.
According to security sources involved in the rescue operation, 69 bodies were recovered from the accident site.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who had earlier planned to go to Pokhara to study more about the incident, cancelled their flights citing the possible crowd that might cause nuisance in rescue efforts in the area.
Earlier, the meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to observe Monday as a mourn day and grant a public holiday for tomorrow.
