Biratnagar defeats Janakpur to make place in Nepal T20 League final

KATHMANDU: Biratnagar Super Kings has made it to the finals of the Nepal T-20 League.

In the match held in TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday, Biratnagar defeated Janakpur Royals by 39 runs and made place in the final.

In the tournament, Janakpur Royals have been defeated for the second time in a row and are out of the tournament. Now Biratnagar will compete against Lumbini All Stars for the title.

After winning the toss and batting first, Biratnagar scored 167 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

For Biratnagar, opener Gauransu Sharma scored 42 runs while Arjun Saund scored 35 runs. Similarly, Raj Nanan scored 33 runs while Hussain Talat scored 31 runs.

While Jitendra Mukhia took 2 wickets for Janakpur, Sarfuddin Ashraf, Lalit Rajbanshi and Samimullah Sinwari took one wicket each.

In reply, Janakpur Royals chased down the target and were all out for 128 runs in 19.1 overs. For Janakpur, Chadwick Walton scored 51 runs as the highest score. Similarly, captain Trayvon Grift scored 34 runs, and Khadak Bohora scored 14 runs. Apart from these three, no other player could score double runs in double digits.

While Keon Joseph took 3 wickets to lead Biratnagar for victory, Raj Nanan and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each.
