PM Dahal commits to elevating Badi community’s livelihood



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said substantial initiatives would be taken to ensure respect and elevate livelihood of Badi community.

During a meeting with leaders of Badi community, who reached official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar to congratulate PM Dahal and to submit a memorandum today, Prime Minister Dahal recalled that he, through the cabinet, made decisions in favor of Badi community at a time when took the charge of the Prime Minister for the first time.

On the occasion, he expressed commitment to resolve problems seen in the implementation of the decisions, said PM Dahal’s Press Coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma.

PM Dahal recalled, “I remember the decisions for the respect, livelihood and well managed rehabilitation of Badi community that I had taken during my first premiership. Poush 23, the day when the state had formally addressed the Badi community for the first time in history, should be celebrated as a victory day.”

He assured that the government will take effective measures to resolve the problems facing the Badi community by making active the Badi Upliftment Development Committee.

Extending best wishes for PM Dahal’s successful tenure, representatives of Badi community drew PM Dahal’s attention on various issues as education, health, employment, citizenship, rehabilitation.
