SC to begin hearing on Home Minister Lamichhane’s citizenship issue



KATHMANDU: The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the citizenship dispute of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane today (Friday).

The Supreme Court, while conducting a preliminary hearing on the petition filed questioning Lamichhane’s eligibility to be a Member of Parliament, ordered that both parties be brought to a discussion.

SC Spokesperson Bimal Paudyal said, “The discussion to be held on Friday is focused on whether or not an interim order will be issued on the petition against him (Lamichhane).”
