MCA Nepal issues SPN for MCC-supported transmission line construction

The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal today issued a specific procurement notice (SPN) in regard with the construction of an electricity transmission line.

It has invited sealed bids from all interested eligible bidders for design, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the transmission line.

Top leaders discuss government formation

Top leaders of the ruling coalition have initiated discussions to form a new government at the earliest.

Nepali Congress (NC) President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, and Chairman of United Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal held a discussion at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

UML leading PR vote count with 2,534,323 votes

Out of over 9.3 million votes counted so far under the proportional representation, the CPN (UML) is leading with 2,534,323 votes.

The Nepali Congress is following with 2,399,831. Similarly, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has got 1,063,718, the CPN (Maoist Center) 1,062,747, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 545,656 and the Janata Samajwadi Party 326,372.

The Janamat Party and the CPN (Unified Socialist) are struggling to cross the threshold with 262,826 and 252,027 votes respectively.

Re-election to be held in Dolakha on Dec 1

The Election Commission (EC) has decided to hold re-electon on December 1 in the polling stations in Dolakha where the election has been canceled.

The meeting held this morning by the District Election Management Committee decided to hold the election on December 1.

The re-elections are going to be held after the Election Commission concluded that 10 centers of Dolakha were rigged.

People mandated to go united on national interests: Subas Nembang

CPN-UML vice-chairman Subas Nembang has said that the result of the recently-held general election has given the message for the political parties to move ahead embracing free and healthy competition.

Nembang, who won the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Ilam, said the election has given a verdict to the parties to unite for the cause of the country and people and added that his party move ahead accordingly.

Melamchi water to be available in Kathmandu taps soon

The water from Melamchi has been released into a reservoir at Sundarijal in Kathmandu through a tunnel way following the repair of the structure damaged by flooding.

Flooding during monsoon damaged the tunnel at Helambu Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchok district, thus halting the water supply since around six months ago.
