Out of 165 constituencies, vote counting underway in 30: Election Commission

KATHMANDU: Out of 165 constituencies for the House of Representatives members, the vote counting is underway in 30 constituencies, the Election Commission (EC).

According to the details of the EC’s Joint Election Operation Center (JEOC), EC is making preparations to start counting in most of the places today.

Among the places with the counting underway, the counting of votes in Bhaktapur 2 was postponed for a while. JEOC has informed that the counting of votes was postponed due to the dispute about valid and invalid votes, but the counting has started after an all-party agreement.

Similarly, the dispute erupted in Ilam when the ballots of the House of Representatives were not counted after they were found into the boxes of the Provincial Assembly.

An all-party meeting is currently being held for the counting of votes. In the all-party meeting, it has been agreed that around 100 ballots dropped in the box of the provincial assembly will be counted for the province.
