School building constructed with donated funds

BENI: Locals in Bhakimli, in Beni, Myagdi district have worked as facilitators in the construction of a school building in Beni Municipality-3.

The building has been constructed with the money collected as donations, setting an example that people can move a mountain if they collaborate and have enough willpower.

The locals had collected Rs 35 million for the construction of Jayanti Secondary School.

Earlier, there had been difficulty in running classes smoothly due to dilapidated condition of the building and lack of sufficient classrooms.

The fund was collected from Bhakimli natives who are working as government employees across the country and those living abroad and a variety of organizations. The newly constructed building has 20 classrooms.

Padam Pun, the ward chair, said radical changes in education sector can be achieved through collaborations and by conscious parents.

The school will work for quality education after the construction of physical structures, he added.

Pun said that Rs 15 million was funded by Bhakimli people, Rs. 11.7 million by government organization and Rs. 6.2 million by international organizations.

He added after Bhakimli people residing abroad started a campaign to collect funds for the schools, the locals had also actively participated in collecting fund inside the country.
