CPSP contributes to development of medical education in Nepal: Health Minister Khapung

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Bhawani Prasad Khapung has identified ‘important’ contribution of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in the development of medical education and specialist health service in Nepal.

Relations between Nepali surgeons and the CPSP have been cordial, he said while addressing the 55th convocation day of the CPSP on Saturday.

“The CPSP has provided contributions significantly to the health sector of Nepal. As a result, money on expenditures for Nepali medical students pursuing abroad studies have been saved. Many Nepali surgeons trained through the CPSP are said to have been satisfactory with quality training and service provided by the college,” he said.

He also thanked Pakistani doctors and surgeons for their promotion of Master in Medicine program in Nepal.

Stating that the Ministry has got the responsibility to manage the program, he, on behalf of the Ministry, pledged assistances in this regard.

CPSP President Prof Mohammad Shoaib Shafi said the CPSP aimed to provide quality medical education across the globe while conducting medical training.
