KATHMANDU: It has been revealed that a young woman who claimed to be Cholendra Rana’s daughter on Sunday is not really Rana’s daughter and she hails from Dailekh.
A young woman had given a long interview to the media outside the official residence of Chief Justice in Baluwatar on Sunday.
Stating that she was Sunidhi Rana, the daughter of the suspended Chief Justice, the young girl had strongly criticized the behavior of the government.
Lashing the government for unjustly confining the Rana family within the residence of Chief Justice, she had even appealed to the people to hit the streets to protect the judiciary.
It has been revealed that the girl is not suspended Chief Justice Rana’s real daughter.
According to family sources, Rana has no daughter named Sunidhi.
“Among his two wives, Rana has a daughter named Shristi and a son named Sachindra Shumsher from his first wife Uma Hamal. Rana married for the second time following Uma’s death from gas stove explosion. Samriddhi is the only daughter from the second wife,” said a relative.
“I did not know if she is a niece or an adopted daughter. The girl seen in the interview is not really Cholendra Shumsher’s daughter,” said a relative.
The young woman claiming to be Rana’s daughter in front of the media is Meena Jaisi from Dailekh.
She is from Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality, Dailekh. She is the eldest daughter of local Deviram Jaisi.
Neighbors and friends in Dailekh were shocked when the girl appeared in the media claiming to be Rana’s daughter on Sunday. Her real tie with the Rana family is still a mystery.
She was suddenly propelled into the limelight as Cholendra’s daughter following her interview to the media, .
Some television and news agencies also had interviewed her further. Her interview went viral.
When journalists had sought her name on Sunday, after pausing for a moment, she had said Sunidhi Rana.
The other girl coming out with her was Rana’s real daughter Shristi, daughter of Uma, the elder wife of Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
