National cricket team leaving for Kenya today

KATHMANDU: The Nepali national cricket team is leaving for Kenya Monday to play T20 and ODI cricket.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said that the Nepali team will fly to Kenya at 4 pm today.

Before that, the CAN will hold a farewell program for the team.

According to CAN, Nepal will play a 5-match T-20 International and 3-match ODI series with Kenya.

The 5-match T-20 series will be held from August 25 to 30. The 3-match ODI series will run from September 2 to 5.

Both the series will be played at Gymkhana ground in Nairobi. There will be a 5-match T-20 series between Nepal and Kenya in the beginning. Then there will be the ODI series.

The newly appointed head coach of the national cricket team, Manoj Prabhakar, will formally take charge of the Nepali team from the Kenyan tour.

Nepal has already announced the team under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane for the series.

Captain Sandeep Lamichhane, Vice-Captain Rohit Poudel, Asif Sheikh, Arif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airi, Dev Khanal, Adil Alam, Karan KC, Gyanendra Malla, Sompal Kami, Bashir Ahmed, Arjun Saud, Pawan Sarraf, Shahab Alam, Kishor Mahato, and Vivek Yadav are in the Nepali team.
