Nepal thrashes Qatar in ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier



KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Qatar by 79 runs in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.

Qatar, which was chasing a 118-run target posed by Nepal, managed to collect 38 runs losing all its wickets in 15.4 overs. The match was played at UKM Oval in Malaysia today.

Qatari skipper Sachi Dhadwal and Shrutiben Kamaleshbhai Rana made 14 runs each. Nepal’s Shrishti Jaishi took three wickets. Likwise, Anu Kadayat, Kritika Marasini and Sneha Mahara took two wickets each.

Batting first before this, the Nepali team collected 117 runs in 20 overs losing its three wickets. Ashma Pulami Magar pulled 32 not out, Shristi Jaishi made 23 not out while Sanu Rajbanshi and Anjali Bishwokarma hit 21 and 11 runs respectively. Kiran Kumari Kunwar made only a single run.

On the bowling side, Sachi Dhadwal and Alina Khan took one wicket each.

In the remaining matches, Nepal is scheduled to play against UAE on Saturday, Bhutan on Monday, Thailand on Tuesday, and Malaysia on Thursday.
