Boating in Antupokhari after two years



MANGALBARE: Boating service has come back into operation at Sriantu lake of Suryodaya Municipality.

Boating had remained suspended for two years due to the Coronavirus pandemic as well as after some problems arose between the municipality and the private boat operator.

However, the municipality has taken the responsibility on its own and brought boat service into operation in the lake to promote domestic and foreign tourism. Along with the view of sunrise and sunset, boat ride will be another attraction for tourist visiting Sriantu.

At present, three boats are operating in the lake, said Mayor Ran Bahadur Rai. Stating that the boat was operated to entertain the tourists coming to the popular tourist spot, Mayor Rai said, the boating service has been added to Antupokhari along with other tourist spots.

The municipality has allocated funds for the operation of boats in the lake while also developing infrastructure in various sectors of tourism in the area. Tourists will be charged Rs. 50 per person for boating in the lake. For the safety of the tourists, 15 life jackets have also been managed.
