Former CJ Khatri passes away



KATHMANDU: Former Chief Justice (CJ) Nayan Bahadur Khatri passed away on Thursday night. He was 100.

His last rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday.

Supreme Court’s Assistant Spokesperson Nagendra Kalakheti said that a full bench of the apex court will convene at the cremation site and will pass a condolence motion. All the court’s proceedings will be closed to mourn the demise.

Khatri had served as CJ from 2033 BS to 2042 BS and also as Chairman of Law Commission for three terms. He had also served as Chairman of Press Council, Nepal.
