Govt committed to upgrading hospital, providing quality treatment: Health Minister



HETAUDA: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has said the government has the goal of upgrading the hospitals under the management of federal and provincial governments.

He said the quality of services at these hospitals would also be improved and made more effective, by opening vacancies for the required number of posts for doctors.

The Health Minister said so while addressing a press conference organized by the Socialist Press Organisation in Hetauda today.
He urged the citizens to be aware of immunizing themselves against COVID-19 and get the jabs by visiting the immunization booths concerned.

Minister Khatiwada shared that the government has already started bringing vaccines from neighboring countries India and China, and friendly country United States of America to expand the coverage of vaccination to all citizens. He added that emphasis has been given to administering the vaccines to children, 12 to 18 years of age.

Stating that the federal government has already directed the Election Commission to prepare the schedule of the election for holding the local bodies’ election by mid-May this year, Health Minister Khatiwada said initiatives are being made to release budget for that purpose.
He said health posts would be set up soon ate remote areas for providing affordable health services in such places.

Also today, Minister Khatiwada inspected the Hetauda Hospital run under the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences. On the occasion, he instructed the hospital management to provide prompt and quality health services to the general public.

He also handed an ambulance with modern facilities to Hetauda Hospital on behalf of the government today.
