PALPA: The Rambha rural municipality in Palpa has provided subsidies for the seeds of potatoes.
The assistance aimed to promote potato farming in the locality.
The local government this year distributed 457 quintals of potato seeds in 50 percent grants to the farmers of all five wards.
The distribution was in line with the annual policies and programs of the rural municipality.
Rural municipality chair Bishnu Prasad Bhandari said the subsidy is for encouraging farmers to switch to commercial potato farming.
Pipaldada and Hungi including some other areas here are considered as a ‘pocket zone’ for potato farming.
