Health post at remote Kharpunath rural municipality in Humla struggling without medicines

HUMLA: Lali health post at Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1 in mountainous Humla district is reeling under lack of the medicines provided by the government for free.

As a result, patients visiting the health post have suffered. Many children and elderly people, in particular, have been suffering from viral fever, said a local resident Birjan Shahi.

“Health workers at the health facility have returned patients empty-handed without medicines,” he said.

The matter has become worse for the local people as another health facility nearby is an hour’s walk from the rural municipality.
The health post received 15 to 20 patients on a daily basis, said, health workers.
