Possibility of formation of new government under NC leadership in Province 1: Minister Khadka

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Narayan Khadka, has said that there was a possibility of the formation of a government under the leadership of Nepali Congress (NC) in Province 1.

Talking briefly to media persons at Biratnagar airport Saturday, Minister Khadka shared that a decision would be taken regarding the formation of a new government after the vote of confidence scheduled on Sunday is concluded. He further said that a decision would be taken in a package regarding formation of a new provincial government on the basis of discussion and consensus among alliance parties participating in Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

The Foreign Minister mentioned that MCC would be passed with a common consensus by holding mutual discussion among all parties.

Responding to a query, he shared that there was no possibility of ‘early election’ immediately, but the election might take place on coming April/May if consensus is forged among the ruling alliance parties. Minister Khadka extended tribute to the people who lost their lives due to landslides and floods following unseasonal rainfall and expressed commitment to provide more relief after collecting details of damages of crops and livestock.
