Constitution embraces democratic values: Ambassador Khatiwada



WASHINGTON: Nepali Ambassador to the United States (US) Dr Yubraj Khatiwada reminded that Nepal’s constitution had embraced democratic values along with citizen’s rights and human rights.

At a program the Nepali Embassy organized here on the occasion of the Constitution Day, Ambassador Khatiwada viewed the constitution has regarded equality, social justice and unity among diversity as major principles.

On the occasion, he also extended gratitude to the US government for its humanitarian assistance and partnership in Nepal’s development. The program was also attended by the US government representative.

Also speaking on the occasion, the US representative also said Nepal and the US had long friendly and cordial relations. The US is always ready to extend support and assistance to Nepal for its democracy and prosperity.

The event was also attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions in Washington DC, US government officials, representatives of Nepali community and media persons.
