Traffic resumes on Helambu highway



KATHMANDU: The Helambu highway has become operational after two days since it was blocked. The roadway was blocked due to landslide and flood triggered by incessant rain.

Traffic resumed on the highway from 12.30 pm today after the landslide debris was removed, Inspector at the Area Police Office Melamchi, Tikaram Rai, said. The road was blocked at Phataksila Ratopahara of the Melamchi- Jirokilo section due to the landslip.

Now buses can be operated up to Melamchi Bazar and the road up to Talamarang is being cleared of the landslide debris, Melamchi municipality stated.
