Monsoon to become more active from tonight



KATHMANDU: Monsoon is expected to turn more active from tonight. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough currently lies near the eastern Tarai plains and it is likely to come closer to the Tarai region, further triggering monsoon activities.

The monsoon trough has been near to the southern plains for a couple of days and as a result, it is causing precipitation across the country.

According to the Division’s latest weather bulletin, light to moderate rain is likely in many places of the country due to this.

Today, there are chances of heavy rainfall at few places of Province 1 and Province 2, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim provinces.

Likewise, tonight, the weather will be generally too fully cloudy and light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places of the country. Heavy rainfall has been forecast at a few places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim provinces.
