Caritas Nepal donates medical appliances to Mechi Provincial Hospital



JHAPA: The Caritas Nepal has provided in-kind support to Mechi Provincial Hospital in the Jhapa district.

The in-kind support includes essential medical appliances worth over Rs 1.6 million for COVID-19 response.

Ten sets of oxygen cylinders, four sets of oxygen concentrator, 450 sets of PPEs, surgical gloves, 515 boxes of surgical masks, 34 sets of the oximeter, 210 bottles of sanitizers, and Venturi masks, informed Caritas Nepal’s Govindaraj Kattel.

This is the second stretch of support the humanitarian organization Caritas Nepal provided to the Hospital. Earlier the organization had donated healthcare appliances worth Rs 1.1 million.

Caritas Nepal, Damak branch Chief Devendra Pokharel shared that the medical appliances were handed over to Somnath Portel, chief of District Coordination Committee, and Mechi Provincial Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Tanka Prasad Barakoti amid a program on Monday.

The medical appliances would come in handy to treat the infected ones as the Hospital recorded an increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in the second wave.

Caritas Nepal, under its social responsibility, has also helped run the COVID-19 Help Desk in the premises of the Tuberculosis Elimination Organization.
