PSC central office set to shift to Kamalpokhari from Anamnagar

KATHMANDU: The central office of the Public Service Commission (PSC) is set to shift to a new building constructed in Kamalpokhari from mid-July.

The PSC has already published notice to conduct interviews of health service (ninth level) and judicial service (the gazetted /third class) at Kamalpokhari-based new building from July 15. Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the National Reconstruction Authority built the PSC’s new building in Kamalpokhari for Rs. 722.3 million.

PSC Chairman Madhav Prasad Regmi said, “As information has published that the interview will be held in Kamalpokhari-based new office on July 28, we are ready to move to Kamalpokhari.”

The PSC central office was located on its own land in Kamalpokhari in the past. After the Ministry of Youth and Sports used the Rana-era building of the PSC, the PSC had shifted to its current location in Anamnagar.

The new building was developed after the old building of Kamalpokhari got destroyed in the 2015 Gorkha earthquake. A three-year agreement to erect new building was signed in March 2018. The deadline was extended for another three months due to problems posed by lockdown in 2020.
