KATHMANDU: The government has allocated a total of Rs. 20.31 billion for construction and strengthening the infrastructure of four international airports and other domestic airports for the coming fiscal year.
Unveiling the budget of the fiscal year 2021/22 Saturday, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said Rs 8.5 billion has been allocated for the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport. Likewise, Rs 6.95 billion has been allocated for transforming Tribhuvan Airport into a boutique airport, expanding the taxiway, and building a terminal building.
According to Finance Minister Poudel, Rs 3.53 billion has been allocated for additional work of Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa and for the construction of the second terminal.
The government has allocated Rs 1.33 billion for the construction of infrastructure at domestic airports in the coming fiscal year.
