Comedian duo Trital and Gautam set new Guinness Book of World Record



KATHMANDU: Nep-Gasm popular stand-up comedian duo Lekhmani Trital and Umesh Kumar Gautam have registered their names in the Guinness Book of World  Record.

Comedy artists Trital and Gautam broke the previous world record by performing a stand-up comedy show at Kalapatthar situated at an altitude of 5,302 meters.

Making public on its website, Guinness Book of World  Record said that comedian duo Lekhmani Trital and Umesh Kumar Gautam have set a new world record by breaking the world record set by Italian artist Paolo.

Earlier on April 25, 2019, Italian comedian, Paolo had set a record by performing a stand-up comedy at the Everest Base Camp (5,270 meters).

A technical team of Nep-Gasm on May had flown to Kalapattthar on a flight of Simrik Air to break the record of the world record by hold a stand-up show organized at the highest altitude.

Aside from artists Trital and Gautam, participating in the team were program coordinator Santosh Kumar Devkota, Director Gyanendra  Mishra and Producer Ashish Shahi, cameraman Ashu Basnet, Altitude and Travel expert Dipak Thapa, Journalist Ramesh Jamarkattel.

Media personality and Founder of Nepal_Gasm, Santosh Kumar Devkota said, “This success is not only for the Nep-Gasm comedy team but also for the senior and emerging newcomers working in Nepali comedy day and night.”

“We want to dedicate this world record to all the comedians who fight against corruption,” he said.

Likewise, Sharad Shrestha, Director of Nep-Gasm, said, “We are thrilled with this achievement. This is a great time to introduce Nepali stand-up comedy to the world market.”

He added that this achievement would help bring Nepali stand-up comedy content to the world market.
