Kathmandu Valley CDOs wait for Cabinet decision on prohibitory order

KATHMANDU: Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu Valley have taken a step back from declaring prohibitory order in the Valley. Though they have decided the same, they are now waiting for the Cabinet meeting to make the final call on the proposal.

Earlier Monday, CDOs of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held a meeting at the Home Ministry and agreed that a prohibitory order must be in place from April 29 to May 5 to contain COVID-19 infection from spreading.

So, all eyes are on the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Monday evening regarding the prohibitory ban.

Once the Cabinet endorses the proposal, life in the Valley will come to a grinding halt till the ban is in effect.

CDOs of Kathmandu Valley have forwarded the proposal to the Cabinet realizing that the second wave of COVID infection might be going out of hands and is necessary to contain it while it is still possible.
