31 climbers to scale Mt Everest this spring season



KATHMANDU: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has given permission to 31 climbers to climb Mt Everest this spring season.

The DoT said as many as 86 climbers – 64 men and 22 women — from 11 expedition teams have been allowed to climb mountains, including Mt Everest.

Likewise, according to the DoT, 44 people have been given the permit to climb Mt Annapurna, four Mt Nuptse, five Mt Lhotse, and one each to Mt Tukuche and Mt Manaslu.

The DoT has collected Rs 49.29 million as royalty from the climbers.
