3 killed, 10 injured in Makwanpur bus-truck collision



MAKWANPUR: Three people died and 10 others have sustained critical injuries in a truck-bus collision that occurred at Manahari-6, Sunachuri in Makwanpur district along the East-West Highway on Saturday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old bus driver Madan Kumar Thapa of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Indian nationals Abhaya Lal Kushwaha who appears in his late 30s and Sunil Kumar, 40, said District Police Office, Makwanpur.

The accident took place when a passenger bus, Na 4 Kha 5149, heading to Chitwan from Hetauda collided head-on with a truck, Na 6 Kha 89, coming from the opposite direction this morning.

The injured are receiving treatment at Hetauda and Bharatpur, said police.
