Govt. deploys 10 policemen for Biplav’s security

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Biplav group’s General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has intensified his meeting with former Maoists leaders including Mohan Baidya, CP Gajurel and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa excluding then Chairman of his party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Biplav who was not formerly seen in public programs for more than three years, had become public on Friday. Biplav had one-by-one meeting with Prime Minister KP Oli on Friday and had met Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Saturday.

He had also attended the meeting of Strategic United Front comprised of various fringe parties led by former Maoist leaders including Mohan Baidya, Rishi Ram Kattel, and Bishwo Bhakta Dulal.

Biplav met former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara at the latter’s resident in Kathmandu today. In addition to it he has also met his comrades including Hemanta Prakash Oli ‘Sudarshan’ in jail.

Biplav is scheduled to address a program in his hometown Kapilvastu on Monday.  Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, Prachanda had said that he is ready to welcome Biplav in his party.

Despite meeting with former Maoist leaders, Prachanda has not been in Biplav’s immediate meeting list.
