Westerly wind impact: Snowfall likely in high hilly, mountainous region



KATHMANDU: A meteorologist said that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country with chances of snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous region for three days due to the effect of westerly wind.

Meteorologist Barun Poudel said that the weather would be partly cloudy in Sudurpashchim Province and some mountainous belt while it would be clear in the rest of the parts of the country.

He added that there was no possibility of occurrence of rainfall due to the impact of the Westerly wind but the mercury might dip due to the snowfall.

Poudel stated that there were chances of light snowfall in some places of the high hilly and mountainous region due to the impact of the Westerly wind.

He has also urged one and all to take precaution against cold as there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous region, and of occurrence of fog in some parts of the Tarai region in the morning for three days.
