Chinese and Indian troops engage in border clash

NEW DELHI: Chinese and Indian troops have clashed again in a disputed border area, Indian media reports say.

The clash took place in north Sikkim three days ago injuring with injuries on both sides, reports said.

Tensions have been high between the two countries since a deadly clash in another disputed border area, BBC reported.

It should be recalled that as many as 20 Indian soldiers died in a skirmish in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, in June last year.

The latest incident happened at the Naku La pass in Sikkim, according to media reports.

Meanwhile, Indian media reports said Indian soldiers foiled an attempt by the Chinese to intrude across the border at Naku La in Sikkim last week.

Sources said Chinese soldiers tried to cross the border but were challenged by Indian soldiers in Naku La, which resulted in a violent clash.

The clash resulted in injuries on both sides, reports said.
