Myagdi-based Tatopani pond opens after 10 months



BENI: Hot water ponds created out of natural hot springs have opened almost after 10 months in Myagdi district.

The hot water ponds which remained closed since March 24 due to COVID-19 pandemic have come into operation from January 14.

Birendra Man Shakya, the chairman of Singa Tatopani Pond Management Committee chairman of Beni municipality-4, said that visitors can now take bath in the ponds by adopting health safety measures.

Hot water ponds are known as natural healing spots and it is believed that various kinds of diseases like arthritis, gastritis and skin disease will be cured by taking a bath in such water springs.

Over 20,000 visitors arrive in the district every year to take a bath in hot water spots

Aside from Singa, the Tatopani Pond located on the bank Kaligandaki River on the way to Mustang in the Annapurna rural municipality-2, Bhurung has opened. It is a major attraction for tourists.
