Action will be taken against those chanting indecent slogans against Prez: Home Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Women’s Association has submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister demanding action against those who chanted indecent slogans against President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Handing over a memorandum to Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Sunday, the women wing of the NCP KP Oli faction demanded legal action against those who insulted the President through various public events, rallies, and social media.

Stating that dissidents have the freedom to assemble and express their views in a democracy, the association objected to inhumane and indecent statements against the Prime Minister and the President.

Receiving the memorandum, Home Minister Thapa said that the government has drawn attention to the indecent sloganeering against the President, adding that action will be taken.

Home Minister Thapa also said that he has instructed the concerned body to investigate and take action.
