Rain likely in hills, hot winds in Terai



KATHMANDU: A partial influence of a western disturbance and local wind systems is expected to bring scattered rainfall to parts of the country, with the Weather Forecasting Division also warning of continued heat in the Terai region.

According to the Division, weather conditions are generally cloudy across the Himalayan and hilly regions, particularly in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the Terai region remains mostly clear. Light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring at a few locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the country’s hilly and mountainous regions, while the Terai will experience partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as at one or two locations in the Terai.

The Division has also forecast hot weather and warm winds in some parts of the Terai districts of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, while the Terai areas of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light rainfall at a few places in the mountainous regions, particularly in Koshi Province, and at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
