Govt Spokesperson voices concern over besmirching President’s image

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung, also the Spokesperson of the government, expressed concern over a street protest that he said, would besmirch the image of the President, the revered institution of the country.

Stating that there were efforts to attack the constitution, law, and political system after making an unforgivable accusation against the President, he urged political parties and groups to become responsible.

He claimed “The street agitation by political parties without a political agenda was meant for preparations for the elections. It has circulated psychology to the people that elections will take place at any cost.”

The government has started the necessary process to help the Election Commission in conducting the elections, he said.
