Government to auction unnecessary vehicles

Ministries to submit details within Dec 30



KATHMANDU: Lately, the government has taken initiations to manage the government assets lying unused and held unnecessary.

The December 7 meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi decided to auction the unmanaged government vehicles and other physical assets.

According to the sources, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has been instructed to arrange for the auction of unused and unmanaged government vehicles and other assets.

In a notice, the Ministry has asked all Ministries to submit the details of all the properties to be auctioned within December 30.

“In order to manage the government vehicles, including government property, all ministries are informed to enter the details of their own vehicles and the vehicles and other properties under their line offices and agencies in the Public Assets Management System(PAMS) format at the Office of Auditor General within December 30,” the notice issued by the Ministry of Industry Commerce and Supplies reads.

The Ministry has formed a nine member Auction Management Committee under the coordination of the Auditor General.
