Chitwan and Sunsari record three fresh deaths linked with COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Three coronavirus-infected people including  two octogenarian men have died in separate places in the country on Thursday morning.

Two coronavirus-infected people have died in the course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan district.

The deceased are an 85-year-old man of Ratnanagar municipality-13 and a 33-year-old woman of  Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-5, Makwanpur.

According to Dr Nitu Adhikari, the chief of COVID-19 laboratory, they died in the course of treatmnent on Thursday morning.

The elderly of Ratnanagar who was hospitalized on October 20 after he suffered from dry cough, respiratory complications and fever was diagnosed with the virus on October 21.

He was being treated at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital after his condition deteriorated yesterday.

Similarly, the 33-year-old woman had tested positive for coronavirus on October 16. A 37-week pregnant woman was being treated on ventilator since Wednesday after her condition deteriorated.

Similarly, an 83-year-old man infected with coronavirus from Inaruwa Municipality-1, Sunsari died while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institure of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) this morning.

According to Dr Ashish Shrestha, deputy spokesperson at the hospital, the octogenarian was suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.

The elderly was admitted to COVID-19 Hospital on October 19.
