DAMAULI: Chief of Gandaki State Amik Sherchan has focused on vocational education and underscored the need for production-oriented education system in the country.
Speaking at a program organized by the Rotary Club in Pokhara to hand over PCR test-kits and stationery materials, Sherchan commended the initiatives taken by the Rotary Club to enhance the quality of education in the community schools across the country.
He said that education should be practically useful adding that the state government has increased investment in technical education considering its importance in job creations and breeding entrepreneurship among the youths.
Sherchan also distributed teaching materials to 33 community schools of various districts in the Gandaki State that was provided by the Rotary International 3292 District.
Likewise, Sherchan and Rotary International 3292 District Governor Kiranlal Shrestha also handed over PCR test-kits to Byas Municipality in Tanahu district.
The test-kits amount to around Rs 1.2 million. With the PCR test-kits, as many as eight nasal and throat swab could be put to test within three hours.
