Don’t protest in my support, Kulman urges supporters

KATHMANDU: Outgoing Managing Director (MD) of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kulman Ghising has said that his serious attention has been drawn to protests taking place in different parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley in his support.

Ghising said in a statement on Saturday that the government has the sole right to select the Chief at the authority, adding that he believes that the government will decide at an appropriate time.

“I have completed the four-year term assigned to me by the government. As the continuity or change of NEA’s leadership is a normal and natural process, we must all embrace it,” he said in the statement.

Ghising has requested everyone not to protest in the streets at the time when Nepal is reeling under the coronavirus pandemic.
