India tightens security on borders as talks continue to diffuse tensions with China



NEW DELHI: India has tightened vigilance at its borders with Nepal, Bhutan and China after renewed tensions with China in Ladakh, India Today has reported.

India’s armed forces have reportedly been asked to remain on high alert amid tensions along the Line of Actual Control, the report said.

The Indian Army has strengthened its presence on several “strategic heights”. It has enhanced deployment of troops at key points around the Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh.

India has put the security forces at the Indian borders on alert after new face-off with China.

Reports said an alert has been issued along the borders with Bhutan, Nepal and China.

Reports said the authorities have given instruction to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police to remain alert on borders in Uttarakhand, Arunachal, Himachal, Ladakh and Sikkim.

Likewise, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which guards the Indo-Nepal and Bhutan border, have been asked to heighten vigilance.

Meanwhile, the military talks between India and China will continue on Wednesday as well.
