Assam’s coronavirus tally tops 75,000 in past 24 hours

GUWAHATI: The coronavirus tally in India’s Assam state has surpassed the 75,000-mark, while the death toll mounted to 182, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Assam’s coronavirus caseload stood at 75,558, while as many as 53,286 people have recovered from the disease so far, Indian media reports have said.

The state now has 22,087 active COVID-19 cases, according to reports.

Meanwhile, India’s coronavirus tally on Sunday rose to as many as 25,89,62.

The death toll climbed to 49,980 with a total of 944 people succumbing to the disease in 24 hours.
